My Frist Medium Post EVER!!!!

Hello Medium,

My name is Rebeca. I prefer to be called Rae Beca, or Rae or Beca, whichever is easiest to remember. I am also gender fluid which makes for some interesting interaction with kids when I substitute teach.

I started a blog called mydeslexicworld.com back in 2011 when I was in my third year in college as a class assignment and quickly fell in love with blogging.

Fast forward to 2021. I’ve made some mistakes that sent me back to the starting line of life. I thought since I’m starting over, I wanted to start fresh somewhere with blogging as well. Somewhere people don’t know me yet, and that’s where I got the idea to open a medium account!

Things are going to be a bit fast and loose over here. I have a hodgepodge knowledge base about writing and social media marketing. Theories on how I think business should be run, as many millennials my age do, and a general love of sharing things that I learn. Tack on the fact I’m not afraid to give a peek behind the curtain about how I do something or be vulnerable, I hope this blog will be an interesting place.

And there’s one thing I’ll be sharing quite a bit about, how Dyslexia absolutely wrecks my life! Honestly, you’d be amazed how this learning disability, which most people believe just affects reading, actually messes with things like body coordination and time management. Being high on the Dyslexic scale, I’ve had to learn a few stratagems to make it to where I am now, both as a writer and a functioning adult.

I’m looking forward to this new adventure and sharing this new life I’m building.
